Every exterior measurement Mazda publishes for the 2026 Mazda CX-5 is below, along with the two figures a shopper actually needs and almost never finds: mirror to mirror width, and a straight answer about a standard garage.
The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is 184.6 inches long, 73.2 inches wide and 66.7 inches tall, on a 110.8-inch wheelbase, with a curb weight of 3,856 pounds.[1] Add the mirrors and it measures 81.8 inches across, which is the number that matters in a garage or a parking structure.
The turning circle is 18.4 feet curb to curb, measured as a radius, so a full turnaround needs about 36.8 feet of road. Ground clearance runs 8.0 inches on the 17-inch wheels fitted to the 2.5 S and 2.5 S Select, and 8.2 inches on the 19-inch wheels above them.

The 2026 specification deck says 66.7 inches. The owner’s manual dimensions table says 1,690 millimetres, which converts to 66.5 inches. Both are Mazda documents and we cannot resolve them from published material, so this page uses 66.7 and tells you the other figure exists.[2] Two tenths of an inch will not decide a garage, but if you are working to a hard clearance limit, measure the car itself. We will hold the tape for you.
One number on that table is doing more work than it looks. Curb weight is a single published figure of 3,856 pounds, not a range, which is unusual and reflects a lineup with one engine and one drivetrain. Several sources still publish a 3,591 to 3,684 pound range for this vehicle. That is the second-generation Mazda CX-5 and it is roughly two hundred pounds light.[2]
Almost certainly yes, and the tight dimension is not the one people expect. The three clearances that decide it are below, worked through against typical American residential construction.

Mirror to mirror is the figure that decides it, and it is the one nobody publishes prominently. At 81.8 inches across the mirrors you have about seven inches on each side of a standard eight-foot single door, which is enough to drive in straight but not enough to be careless. The heated power-folding mirrors standard from the 2.5 S Select up take that back to eleven inches a side, which earns its keep in an older Orlando garage with a narrow approach.
The opening sizes above are common American residential dimensions, not Mazda figures and not a standard anybody enforces. Older Central Florida homes in particular carry openings well under eight feet, and a garage door track can drop the usable height several inches below the framed opening. Folded, the vehicle is 73.2 inches wide. That eight and a half inch difference is the whole garage question, and it is the reason the power-folding mirrors on the 2.5 S Select and above are worth more than they sound.
Parking structures are the other common question. Downtown Orlando garages are typically posted at six feet eight inches or seven feet. At 66.7 inches the vehicle clears both comfortably, but a roof box or a bike carrier will not, and the roof rails on the 2.5 S Preferred and above are rated to 165 pounds of load.[1] Measure whatever you intend to put up there and add it to the roof height rather than to the posted clearance.
This matters if you are trading out of a second-generation car, because the changes are not evenly distributed.
The vehicle is roughly four and a half inches longer overall than the Mazda CX-5 it replaces, on a wheelbase of 110.8 inches. The cargo hold picked up most of the benefit. Behind the rear seats it now holds 33.7 cubic feet against about 29 on the previous generation, which is a difference you will see the first time you load it rather than a specification-sheet gain.[1]
Curb weight went the other way. At 3,856 pounds the 2026 vehicle is roughly two hundred pounds heavier than the car it replaces, which is what you would expect from a longer body with more structure and more standard equipment.
If your current Mazda CX-5 lives in a garage with something at the far end, the extra four and a half inches of length is the change most likely to matter. Everything else is within a couple of inches. Bring your existing vehicle when you come and we will park them nose to tail.

The panoramic sunroof, standard on the 2.5 S Premium and 2.5 S Premium Plus and unavailable below them, costs half an inch of front head room, 1.1 inches in the back and two cubic feet of passenger volume.[1] For most people that is nothing. For a tall rear passenger who rides in your car every day it is the difference between comfortable and aware of the roof.
Three measurements Mazda does not publish, and we will not estimate: the cargo floor length, the width between the wheel arches, and the load floor height. The turning circle is the specification that surprises people most. At 18.4 feet curb to curb, measured as a radius, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 turns tighter than its length suggests, and that shows up in the places you use a car rather than on a spec sheet: a three-point turn on a residential street in College Park, the ramp turns in a Millenia parking deck, a U-turn on Sand Lake Road.
Width is the dimension that costs you in older parking lots. At 73.2 inches the vehicle is average for a compact SUV, but the standard parking stall in a Florida strip mall built in the eighties is narrower than one built last year. Power-folding mirrors help. So does parking with the reversing camera rather than the wing mirrors, which every trim has.
And 3,856 pounds matters if you use a residential lift, a car ferry or a driveway with an unsupported span over a drain. It is a single published figure and it does not vary by trim, so the number is the number whichever one you buy.[1]
