On June 15, 2016 it was announced that the 2016 Mazda CX-3 subcompact crossover has been named as a “2016 Top Safety Pick Plus” recipient by the non-profit Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

What does that mean to you, as a customer or owner of the CX-3? It means that you can be assured that the Mazda CX-3 has met the highest auto safety standards in the world and is safe for you, your family and your passengers.

To attain IIHS Top Safety Pick +, a vehicle must earn the highest rating of “Good” for 2016 in five body-structure categories, including small-overlap crash-testing, and have and advance rating in available collision-prevention technologies like automatic braking – a new requirement in this year’s evaluations.

As automobile safety continues to receive higher and higher standards from insurance and government agencies, Mazda is designing cars to meet and exceed those standards, like the CX-3.

Standard and available safety features on the CX-3 include:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Adaptive Front-lighting System
  • Active Driving Display pop-up head-up display
  • Daytime running lights and tail lights

The Grand Touring model offers the i-ACTIVSENSE Package that includes:

  • Mazda Radar Cruise Control
  • Smart City Brake Support
  • High Beam Control System
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Auto on/off headlights
